Hidden Tears Part Deux
Tomorrow's my birthday~
::cough:: But on topic, I wrote some one-sided RxR today, since I thought of an idea for one during chapel today. x3; And yesh, it's mostly on Retasu's part since it takes place during Kokoro..
Title: Hidden Tears part Deux.
Summary: onesided RxR. Ryou is forced to cosplay as Kyr one day, when he comes across Retasu, who mistakes him for Kyr. It's there that he learns how Retasu truly feels about him...

"...Honestly, I don't know why Shuu made me dress up as Kyten again."
It was nighttime at the park, and Ryou was finally by himself for the day. The cat gijinka glanced down at his wrist as a reflex, only to realize that there was no watch. He let out a sigh, looking down at the green sweatshirt that he was being forced to wear today. Hidden underneath was a silver crown necklace that his father had given him, though the cat gijinka knew well that Kyr would probably never wear something like this.
"Kyr-kun?"
Ryou was jolted back to reality by a somewhat familiar voice. He looked up to see none other than Retasu, though there was something off about her. Her glasses.. were gone. She must've been wearing contacts today, the cat gijinka concluded as he glanced over at the waffles that the green-haired girl was holding.
"..N-no, I'm not---" Ryou was cut off by Retasu, who gave a smile. That action made the boy fall silent. How long had it been since he had made her smile-- no, actually seen her smile?
"....It's been a while since we could talk like this." Retasu offered a waffle, which Ryou reluctantly took. Retasu seemed to notice this, and gave a sweatdrop.
"I don't bite, Kyr-kun. It's your father that probably does it more.." She replied, giggling a little as she seemed to be recalling the memory.
Ryou, on the other hand, seemed to be a little offended by the girl's words. "Excuse me? I... erm, Ryou-tousan.. bites?" He spoke quickly so that the green-haired girl wouldn't realize that he wasn't actually his son, but it seemed that Retasu was too happy to not notice anyways.
"You said so yourself.." She replied, looking a little confused as she spoke. "...It was on that same day that you admitted that you hated Ich---Shirogane-chan for taking your father away from me. You told me that you didn't get why she suddenly abandoned Aoyama for him... after she had been obsessing over him for ages..." As she blinked, Ryou could see the tears that were suddenly falling down her cheek.
The cat gijinka bit his lip. It was all his fault, wasn't it? It was his fault that her feelings had to be hurt because he loved Ichigo.. Shaking his head, Ryou tried to act like he knew exactly what Retasu was talking about.
"...Oh no. I promised myself I wouldn't cry.." She muttered to herself, wiping the tears away as she spoke. "Gomen ne, Kyr-kun.."
Ryou just shook his head. "Y-You shouldn't be sorry. Some people.. are so blinded by love that they can't tell when other people love them. I think that's what happened, that's all.."
"He truly loves Shirogane-chan, though. And... I suppose if he's truly happy with his life, then I'll be happy for him. It's the least I can do for causing him trouble, right?" Even though tears were falling down her face, Retasu still managed to give Ryou a smile.
....Was this where Kyr got his bravery from? Ryou couldn't help but look away. He.. had been complaining about his life, but.. if he wasn't happy, then it was worthless for Retasu to be happy for him. All of her bravery and happiness would be wasted because of him. He didn't want to cause her any more pain than he had..
"Y-yeah.. I'm sure that he's happy with his life, Mido--Retasu-kaasan.." Ryou replied, finally mustering the courage to look Retasu in the eye.
"Until I can truly be happy, I'll cry hidden tears in front of him.. I've caused enough trouble already.."
Even though her voice was a whisper, Ryou could hear every word. "You haven't caused him any trouble! In fact.. he's the one who's probably caused you more trouble!"
The cat gijinka couldn't believe his own words. Why was he dissing himself in front of her in the first place?
Retasu just shook her head. "That may be so... but he doesn't need to know that. Let him live his life the way that he chose it. I'll be fine, and I'll manage.."
"...You truly are brave, Retasu. I don't think there's almost anybody else as brave as you are.." Ryou admitted, giving a nervous smile as he spoke. "...And you shouldn't worry about causing him trouble. I'm sure that he probably wouldn't mind..."
