Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Summary: Sora finally succeeds in telling a bedtime story to Mariel, but what's all this about ninjas?

theskiesabove, Sora and Kingdom Hearts belong to Square-Enix and Disney. I'm just having a little fun with a story, all right?
If there was anything Mariel hated more than anything else in the world, it had to be ninjas. Unlike other little girls who feared the boogeyman or things that went bump in the night, Mariel feared sneaky assassins who could climb through her window and slit her throat when she wasn't looking.
Sora, naturally, was quite exasperated with his little girl. For someone who wasn't supposed to be more than nine years old, she sure had a huge imagination. (A quite morbid one, too!) Tonight would be no exception to this weird phase she was going through.
Sitting at the foot of her bed, Sora leafed through a collection of fairy tales. He would tell her a story - and pray she wouldn't bring up ninjas! - and tuck her into bed before she bolted for who-knows-where. Gently patting Mariel, Sora then asked, "So what do you want me to read tonight, Mari?"
She smiled, "I don't know. What does Daddy want to read tonight?"
Haaa. Sora laughed, "Oh, it really doesn't matter. Hm, you want to hear Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty?"
"Cinderella," Mariel nodded happily, "Because there's no ninjas in Cinderella."
Sora stared at his daughter as if she'd grown a second head, "But Sleeping Beauty doesn't have ninjas either."
"So?" Mariel pouted, "I want to hear Cinderella. Does it matter, Daddy?"
Daddy's little girl was getting an attitude already? But she hadn't even hit puberty yet... Groaning mentally, Sora plastered on a smile as he responded, "Probably not. So here we go."
He coughed, opening to the first page, and read the entire story. Mariel appropriately gasped and awed at all the right parts; he watched as her eyelids drooped and her entire body fell limp... within minutes and by the time Sora read, "The End," Mariel was fast asleep.
Chuckling, he gently tucked her in. Turning the lights off as he left, he chuckled, "I wonder where on Earth she got this strange fear from."
His cell phone rang just then, and Sora couldn't help smiling as he answered, "Hello? ... Oh! Yuffie! Long time no hear..."
Mariel peeked from under the covers as she heard the cell phone. Mentally sighing, her head hit the pillow.
"So much for sweet dreams," She exasperatedly sighed as she finally - finally! - dozed off to sleep.

this is really cute, though! poor Sora, hahaha
as for what else to write, um...something with Tochi? haha can be at her current age or as a kid (she's younger than "Abiri", but probably went hunting for mysteries with her when she was little). if her current age, ah...idk.

Hey, Sora's getting karma for all those Org XIII members he defeated! Except he doesn't really realize it. \o/
Tochi fics work. I'll get on it ASAP.
