[Luceti] Nap, Interrupted
This is an incredibly late birthday present for
kyio. I hope she enjoys this, because I certainly know I had fun writing it!
Title: Nap, Interrupted
Fandom: Luceti
Summary: [takes place four-five years in the future] Yuri just wanted someone to watch over Jonah while he was taking a nap. But in the end? The interruption wasn't so bad after all.
Disclaimer: Absolutely nothing in here is mine, okay? D: They all belong to their respective owners.
He could hear humming. Yuri groaned as he sleepily opened one eyelid to peer at his son and the babysitter across the lawn. What on earth were they singing and laughing about? It was probably his fault for asking for a babysitter so that he could get a decent nap, but... he couldn't help being curious.
"Oy," He called in his son's direction. "What're you singing?"
The babysitter just giggled as Jonah ran around in circles. Yuri couldn't see - or really hear - what they were whispering about. But nevermind. In a few minutes, Yuri Lowell was greeted by a giant batcowl in his face.
Yuri stared back at him, "... Jonah. What are you wearing?"
"I'm not Jonah!" The kid protested. "I'm Batman!"
"Uh-huh," Yuri blinked. Pushing Jonah-- err, Batman off his chest, Yuri rose slightly from his position and smiled gently at his son. "So Batman, whose life did you save today?"
"Yours," Bat-Jonah replied simply. Grinning back at his babysitter, Bat-Jonah added, "If I didn't wake you up, you'd be stuck in nightmare world forever and ever."
Yuri smirked, "Is that so? Then thank you for saving me." He gently pulled the batcowl back to kiss his son's forehead. Putting the cowl back in his place, he pushed his son back towards his babysitter. "But let your old man get some sleep, will you?"
"... You're starting to sound like Uncle Raven."
"You did not just say that," Yuri made a face.
Bat-Jonah smirked - like father, like son! - but happily ran back towards his babysitter and dramatically posed in front of her. "Na na na na na~"
The babysitter giggled again as she knelt to adjust Bat-Jonah's cape. Deftly fixing a frayed edge, she smoothed out the cape and let Bat-Jonah go off to save that poor yellow wolf across the field.
Yuri watched the two of them for a few minutes before he finally responded, "Hey, MJ?"
She smiled back at him, "What's up, Yuri?"
"Thanks."
"You're welcome," She beamed.
"Na na na na na," Bat-Jonah sang, "Na na na na na Batmaaaaaan!"
Apologetically, MJ gestured towards the singing kid superhero (or so Bat-Jonah'd like to think). Yuri waved her off as he yawned, "No worries. Have him back for supper."
And as they left, he couldn't help chuckling, "I swear, that kid's gonna be some kind of superhero some day." He would've finished those remarks, but it seemed the Sandman won over Yuri's eyes for the rest of the day, and so? He finally finished that nap in peace.
