[KH - Three Blade] First Meeting

I swear, I'm not trying to just write KH stuff. My muse.. just won't let me do much of anything else at the moment until I get these plot bunnies out of the way. (I guess I need to go see some more Precure or something, huh?)

Oh, and I finally named my future!KH kids storyline. It's now known as Three Blade (which fits, once you know how Ari, Sorren, and Rhys fit into it)~

Title: First Meeting
Fandom: KH - Three Blade
Summary: He's supposed to be my father? I think I'll pass. [Riku+Kiro fatherson, hints of Sora+Ari fatherdaughter]
Notes: Okay, the setting won't be obvious unless I explain. A year after the events of the first Threeblade, Ari realizes that she needs help fighting monsters only kids can see. So she turns the adults (KH canons) into kids. The side effect? The canons eventually lose all memories that happen after KH2 canon, so they don't remember that they're married or have kids and stuff. That's why Kiro's so depressed. x_x;

Kiro stared at the lanky teenager in front of him. Long, white hair, a confident smile, casual clothing. How could this boy - this arrogant thing - share the same name as his father?

No, Kiro reminded himself. This jerk was his father. A teenage, over-confident version of his father, yes. But it was still his dad.

"You're... Kiro, right?"

Kiro nodded, crossing his arms. Plastering on a smile, he said, "It's nice to meet you... Riku."

Riku. Even saying his name sounded weird - Kir was too used to calling him "Dad" (or even tyrant if he was in a bad mood). But... Riku? It sounded disrespectful. Shouldn't he at least call him professor or something?

The teenager nodded. "Same. You new around here?"

Kiro nearly laughed? New?

Nah. Kir considered himself a regular at Radiant Garden - he frequented the restaurants, helped rebuild Traverse Town as a hangout and refuge for Nobody and Heartless victims. And the most important thing? He defied fate and chose the path of the light.

(He still had power over darkness, he hated to admit. But he didn't want to use them. And besides, he couldn't get rid of them - unlike Riku, his powers were inherited! Why did both of his parents have to have this odd... power?)

"Uh," Kir shrugged. "Sure."

Riku raised his eyebrows. "Guess I don't have to show you around, then."

"Nope."

They just stood there. Silence loomed over them both. What could Kiro say? Every move, every action - it could give away his parentage. If he even dreamed of fighting with the keyblade, it'd be a dead giveaway.

Not.. that Kiro even fought with the keyblade on a regular basis. That was more Sorren's thing, anyhow - despite the fact that the brunet had a serious case of denial. Kir refused the keyblade multiple times: he knew he could fight without it.

"Though um.."

Riku blinked, casually shifting his weight to the other side. "What is it?"

"Have you seen a girl? Red hair, loud... seems like she'll set anything on fire if you give her the chance?"

He laughed - was that a good sign? - as he shook his head. "I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone that unusual around here. Maybe she's in another part of town?"

Kiro shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't seen her since last night, so I was hoping that you'd seen someone like her."

"OY! Riku!"

Even though the call wasn't directed at him, Kiro turned to face the newcomer. A spiky-haired teen waved at them both, grinning as he made his way with a red-haired child. (She wasn't Kairi, Kiro noted, simply because she was much shorter)

Riku grinned. "Who's your friend, Sora? Kairi's long lost relative?"

"Not quite," Sora admitted, grinning slightly. "Ari's a little different. But she does look a lot like Kairi, doesn't she?"

Kiro smiled as he walked in front of Ari. "There you are. Why'd you run off from us?"

Sora blinked. "You know him, Ari?"

"Do I know him?" Ari broke into a wide grin. "Course I do! Kiro's like my best friend. Though he's been hanging out in the kitchen more than the beach.."

"Why am I not surprised," Riku murmured softly, running his hand through his hair.

Kiro and Ari turned to face Riku.

"But we just met, Riku," Kiro slowly began. "How can you say that about me?"

Riku's eyes widened. "I.. don't know. You just seem like the type to be cooking."

Kiro crossed his arms, swaying slightly as he studied Riku over. He muttered softly to himself, "I wonder if he's beginning to remember anything..."

Riku shivered slightly at the comment. Yet, Kir noted, he didn't say anything. Either he really hadn't remembered and was a lucky guesser, or he didn't... want to remember.

In that case, then why? Why wouldn't he remember those positive times? He didn't want to remember being a father, did he? Or did Riku even know that he was missing memories thanks to his son?

(Mental note to self: Remember to strangle Ari later.)

Ari clapped her hands together. "U-Um! Kir! D--Sora! Riku! You guys wanna go do something? I dunno how long the girls are gonna go shopping, but it's kinda boring just standing here like this.."

Riku laughed. "I see she has your attention span, Sora."

"Shaddap."

Kir couldn't help it - he laughed. "You guys always fight like this," His question didn't sound like much of a question. Why should it, when he already knew the answer?

Sora nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. "Seems that way. I promise we're really close, though."

"I believe you," Kiro replied with a grin.

Ari swayed from side to side, watching the conversation with a gleam in her eye. "Hey, hey.. you guys wanna go out now?"

Riku grinned. "I get the picture. Come on, Sora, Kiro. Let's go see what she wants to do."

Sora nodded, taking Ari (more like dragging her!) in the direction of the marketplace. Kiro hung back, walking in the very back of the group. Riku blinked, walking slowly so that the two white-haired boys were walking side-by-side.

"You know more than you're letting on," Riku commented.

Kiro just kept on walking. Riku smirked softly to himself. "... I guess I'll find out when the time comes, huh?"
