[KH] Ever Wonder?

Okay, I'll admit it: I'm going through a KH phase again. That's not a bad thing, but.. I guess I just missed writing and thinking about these guys. Don't worry, I'll give people a full-detailed explanation on who he/she is if it's really needed. ^^;

Title: Ever Wonder?
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Summary: Hey, Ari, you ever wonder what's gonna happen in the future? [Sora+Ari father/daughter]
Notes: This is from an AU (or not) where Ari, Rhys, Max, Sorren, Akemi, and Kiro get stuck in their past. That would be slightly after the events of KH2. Thus, the Sora here is the teenager we know. Yet, he doesn't know that Ari is his kid.. if that makes sense?

"You ever wonder about the future?"

She hadn't been expecting a question like that to come from him. Ari glanced over at her father (a teenage version of him, she had to remind herself). "I guess?"

The keyblade bearer shook his head, leaning against the wall. "No, Ari. I mean like, I wonder some days what I'll be doing ten, twenty years from now. It's kind of a scary thought."

Ari plastered on a smile - as hard as that might be, seeing as she knew practically everything there was to know about him - and nodded. "Y-yeah.."

He blinked. "Hey, Ari? What do you think'll happen to you in the future?"

"I.. don't know," She shrugged. It was the truth; she hadn't honestly really thought about it. "I should probably tell my dad about my powers.. and um... finish college and stuff. Otherwise, no idea."

"You.. haven't told your dad that you can use magic like that?"

"Not really. I'm.. afraid that he'll see me differently, or that I'll get grounded for never having gone to summer camp."

"Hrm," The brunet looked a little thoughtful. "You never told your dad that you had the Wandblade?"

She shook her head.

He looked away, his hair starting to cover his eyes. "I... see. I bet he won't be too mad."

"Hey, um.. did you ever tell your dad about the Keyblade?"

Sora jolted up. "Tell... my dad... I don't think there'll be much need to?"

Who was he trying to fool with that smile? Ari knew it well: it was that smile because you don't know what else to say smile. If it were on her dad - not this teenage version of him - it would normally be accompanied by some words of wisdom. It would suit the moment.

This moment didn't seem to be one of them. Ari just couldn't explain it, but she knew. Her father was human after all. Not weird, but.. normal. Oddly normal. Even if he was the keyblade bearer like her brother.

"You never know," She softly said. "I just don't want my dad to start fearing me or anything."

"Ari..."

"W-what?"

Sora softly smiled. "I think your dad'll be really proud. I'd be proud, at least, if I knew someone who was as skilled as you with magic and stuff." He blinked. "But.. Donald's really good too."

Donald? As in, Sir Donald?

"Sir... Donald? Do people actually call him that?"

Oh, she'd said that aloud? Whoops. She shrugged. "I've heard of him being referred to in that manner before. If he's the court magician from Disney Castle, then yeah - people call him Sir Donald."

"Huh," Sora looked impressed. "Donald's really special."

"Yeah.. you'd really think that my dad would be proud?"

He nodded. "Cross my heart and hope to die."

"All right," She beamed. "I'll... try to tell him soon. Thanks."

"No problem." He turned the stereo up; a slow ballad echoed throughout the room. A small smile tugged upon the keyblade bearer's face - he couldn't help humming along to the melody.

"These little wonders--Hey, Ari?"

The fire mage leaned against his shoulder; she didn't bother opening her eyes as she moaned softly, "Hrm?"

He couldn't help smiling wider - it just felt natural to have her there - as he patted her on the head.

"N-nothing. Get some sleep, okay?"

She nodded. "Sure... g'night."
