Why had he agreed to go with Retasu and Purin to the herbal medicine store?
Ryou groaned slightly as he browsed the various aisles out of boredom. True, he didn't have to come here, but his mouth had said yes before his mind could correct his mouth and say 'no'.
If he had to give a real reason, though: he came because he was curious about the monkey mew mew's medicine. Was it really the kind that one could just get from the store and drink?
Or was it the kind that one buys the ingredients, and he or she then crushes it at home? Or was it...
Ryou sighed, rubbing his temples. Curse his curiosity - it was what had gotten him into his boring situation in the first place.
"S-shirogane-san?"
His eyes looked over at the speaker. "Yes..?"
She smiled weakly, smoothening the wrinkles on her skirt. "You... don't look well..."
"That's because Shirogane-niichan can't walk because his bones are too weak!"
He mentally cursed himself as he felt the child wrap her arms around his shoulders. Did she always have to be so energetic?
"I can too walk," He protested.
She shook her head, frowning. "Nuu... na no da, I know what you need~ This!"
"Wada Calcium cD3...?"
Ryou frowned. "It sounds like a bunch of nasty chemicals. No thanks."
"NA NO DA!"
....She couldn't be crying in the store. Oh, please, if there really is a God, don't make her cry....
"Hey, buddy! Don't make your little sister cry like that!"
Ryou winced, first out of the loud shouting. When he had recovered, however, he... wait, that guy had just called Purin his 'little sister'.
What the heck?
Glancing over at the crying girl, he moved his arms as so to make it seem like he was giving her a piggyback ride.
"..Purin-chan," He said softly. "If you stop crying, I'll give you kisses and I'll even have those nasty chemicals..."
"REALLY? Did you hear that, Retasu-neechan?! Shirogane-niichan's going to do it~"
Why did he have to be so soft around kids? Ryou sighed softly, letting her act hyper (she was in his arms, anyhow. If she got out of control, he would know)
Retasu giggled as they walked out of the store. "You really are a nice person, Shirogane-san," She murmured to herself.
Yet, he had picked up every word. Smiling weakly, he followed the green-haired girl out, with Purin in tow.
"I guess I am," He murmured. "But that's a good thing, isn't it?"
