[Kingdom Hearts] Snow Walk
Title: Snow Walk
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Pairing: Namiku [Riku/Namine]
Summary: She wasn't supposed to be here, but she was. And she was taking a walk with him.
Destiny Islands rarely received snow, so it was a rare (and appreciated) treat when it did. Everyone seemed to have a partner to share the winter festivities this year, it seemed - Sora had his Kairi, Tidus had Selphie, and even Wakka had a girlfriend, Lulu, from the mainland.
Riku liked to say that he didn't care about being a lone wolf, he didn't care that he didn't have someone special in his life. He was repressing his heart, that much he knew. Riku could feel the pain of his heart cracking when he saw Sora playfully giving Kairi popcorn kisses... even when Selphie would whack Tidus into next Tuesday, it brought a sigh to his lips.
"Riku? Is something bothering you?"
She wasn't supposed to be here. He glanced over at the blonde beside him, managing a weak smile. It was usual for him to be sitting here on the deck of the island, just listening to the sounds of the island sea. She must've known that, otherwise she wouldn't have been here.
He motioned for her to join him. "Nothing, Naminè. Just listening to the waves..."
Naminè then slipped her hand into his shyly. "....Riku? If I told you that I wanted to take a walk with you now, what would you say?"
He smiled, squeezing her hand. "Then I would tell you that we could. Where to?"
"Hmm.. may we head to the cove?" She asked as the two rose from their positions, her hand still holding his.
"I don't see why not.." Riku answered.
The two started to walk in the direction of the cove, watching the snowflakes fall in front of their eyes. Naminè stuck her tongue out; a flake fell right onto it. Tasting the snowflake, she giggled.
It had been a while since Riku had seen her so genuinely happy, and he liked it. He grinned; though, he had to ask... had she ever seen snow before?
"This is snow, right?" She asked him, smiling. "It tastes good, even though it's colorless..."
"Well," He began. "You look colorless, but you're full of life, aren't you? I think that's all that matters, really."
Riku then planted a kiss on her cheek. He could have then sworn that the snowflakes had become as colorful as the blush on Naminè's cheek, but as soon as he blinked - it was gone.
