[KP - ToS] For Her Honor
Title: For Her Honor
Fandom: Kim Possible and Tales of Symphonia crossover [basically, an rp. No real name's been given, though.]
Summary: [AU] [Sheelos] Zelos, why on earth do you wear pink?
Spoilers: Hrm, well, I would say that there's spoilers for Zelos, but.. it's so different in the rp that it may as well not be one. So, no real spoilers.
Notes: This is actually based off one of my favorite roleplays, which is a crossover between Kim Possible and Tales of Symphonia. So, a ton of stuff has been changed to work the characters into a KP setting. If there's anything you don't get, I'll try to explain it, I promise!
It had been bugging her for a while.
Sheena didn't even know why it should have: after all, what someone else wore was definitely not her business. Yet, when it came to Zelos, it suddenly seemed that it did.
"Zelos?"
He blinked, turning to face her. "Yeah..?"
She couldn't blame his confusion. Normally, she tried to pretend that he didn't exist at school. (Could you blame her? He tried to flirt with all the girls.)
"Why do you wear pink?"
His face darkened. "Do you really want to know?"
She slowly nodded, sitting down on the stone wall nearby. "Y-yeah.. it's been bugging me for a while."
"I see," He slowly murmured, sitting down next to her.
"Where to begin," He said to himself. "I.. guess it was sometime after Mom died. I was just barely in middle school then. They announced that October was breast cancer awareness month, and.. you know, you wear pink to raise awareness, right?"
Sheena immediately fell silent. "Zelos..."
He looked away. "You know that Mom died from breast cancer when I was two. I.. didn't really know how else to honor her memory."
"I'm.. sorry I asked," She murmured, looking down at her feet.
"Course..."
"Course?"
"I also wear it because real men wear pink, yanno~"
"What? I actually thought you had some good reason!"
Sheena rose from her bench, bopping the redhead on the head. "Geez, Zelos. Do you ever do anything for a good reason?"
As she walked away, she'd yet to notice Zelos' face darken once more.
He turned to face the sea, smiling sadly.
"Hey, mom," He softly murmured. "It's October. Are you.. happy?"
The waves roared; Zelos' lips formed an even sadder smile. "I promise.. to always honor your memory this way."
