It Takes Two: Chapter Eighteen
Title: Popsicles
Fandom: CardCaptor Sakura
Pairing: SakuraxSyaoran
Disclaimer: It's not mine. O_o;
We were just sitting beside the ocean with popsicles in our hands. She would smile at me like she was the luckiest person in the world; I would blush and frantically look away while she laughed.
At least, that's how our trips to the beach had gone for these past few weeks.
Sakura-chan was always a happy person. Whenever I was down, I could count on her to notice, but be totally oblivious to the cause as she stated reasons as to why her "Syaoran-kun should be the happiest person alive, no matter what".
I knew I was lucky to have her; I really was.
Sometimes, I wondered if I had really deserved to have such a caring person at my side.
Today, though, was slightly different. When she lost her popsicle to the sand, though, and looked like she was about to cry, I think I redeemed myself by giving her my own strawberry popsicle.
She beamed at me as she licked the precious treat, thanking me with all her heart.
Maybe I didn't deserve the thanks, but it surely made my day. As I thanked her by kissing her lightly on her cheek, I saw her smile widen even more.
She clung to me as we rose from our positions and continued to walk. It was nice, walking along side the beach with someone you care about. I wonder... could I be like this for the rest of my life? Because if I could, I would be the happiest person alive.
