It Takes Two: Chapter Seventeen

No matter how often he had seen her these days, she was always surrounded by flowers.
This was a far cry from the tomboy that used to play soccer with him and dance with him in the middle of the night when both of them couldn't sleep. She was changing before his eyes; she switched her sport from soccer to tennis, and she was starting to wear more dresses.
Not that he minded. When change was applied to Sora Takenouchi, it always seemed to suit her.
He.. just missed the girl that would catch butterflies and fireflies with him as children. He missed the girl that played soccer with him, and tease him when he lost with a mere girl.
That was why he was surprised when he walked into the store to see his girlfriend surrounded by flowers as usual.
However, she had greeted him with a smile, pointing out her new pair of jeans and beret.
Taichi Yagami wanted to pinch himself. Not only was his friend dressed as she used to be, but she was also holding a butterfly net like old times?
"You wanna catch butterflies?" She had said, smiling as normal.
Taichi had barely been able to stutter out a thrilled, "Yes!" to her face.
The two went out of the store in seek of their old butterfly friends then. Sora had handed her boyfriend a butterfly net, and they headed to the park.
She smiled at him; he returned it as if this was a normal, everyday occurrence and everything was all right.
Somehow, he had a feeling that the girl he missed never did leave. She was just waiting for the right day to come out again... and she had found that right day in today.
