It Takes Two: Chapter Fifteen
Okay, before you guys bash me for this couple choice: I support them both. However, since It Takes Two's theme is all about the hero getting the girl, it's fitting that it's DaisukexHikari, okay? e__e;
Title: Pose for the Camera
Fandom: Digimon 02
Pairing: DaisukexHikari (Daikari)
Disclaimer: Not mine, yo.
"Hey, Daisuke!"
He looked over at me with a confused expression on his face. Frankly, I couldn't really blame him. I hadn't talked to him much ever since I had began dating Takeru.
"What is it, Hikari?" He asked me, walking over with his arms crossed.
You know, for someone that you used to think was a total dork, he.. was starting to look cute. He smiled at me with that expression that he always had.
Of course he seemed like a total dork - he was Daisuke Motomiya, that kid who was into video games, comic books, and what-not.
And.. he was oblivious to the entire thing.
I motioned to my camera finally, managing a weak smile. "Well, you know how I work on the yearbook, right?"
He nodded. "Um, yeah..."
"Can I take a picture of you for.. just regular purposes?"
"Sure," He replied in his usual cheerful manner. "But wouldn't it look a little empty if it was only me?"
He had a point there. I scanned the area we were in for other faces, but to no avail - it was just me and him.
I sighed. "I know, I know.. but there's no one."
He scratched his cheek. "That's odd. Could've sworn there were other people here..." He shrugged.
I held my camera out, making sure that the tripod bag on my shoulder was still okay. "Smile for the camera, Daisuke~"
He did so, grinning in that goofy manner of his.
After I took the picture, I examined it to make sure it was all right. Yet.. though I was sure his smile was goofy in person and just now, he looked unusually cute.
"Let me see!" He called, looking over my shoulder. As he was unusually close to me, I couldn't help noticing how tall he had grown in the last year..
Okay, so fine. I was totally crushing on Daisuke.
Even though I all ready had a boyfriend. Kind of pointless, isn't it?
He grinned, giving me the thumbs-up. "Looks great. But aren't you also into sports too?"
I shook my head. "Not really. I come to your soccer games with the gang, but I'm more of a lacross--"
It hit me. The people never said that the people in the sports section had to be on the same sport team, let alone the same season. I took my tripod out, adjusting it so that the camera would stay.
"We can do one picture together," I said, putting the timer on.
Running over to him, I explained the timer quickly - it would go off in ten seconds, and every five seconds for the next ten seconds for three photos. I would then choose the best one for the editors.
He gave me the victory sign to show that I had gotten it.
As we smiled for the photos, showing off the soccer ball in a couple, I felt like I was having fun.
When the timer finished, I went to set the tripod back in the bag. Motioning for Daisuke to come over, I asked him to hold the camera for me as I fixed the tripod.
"Hey, Hikari?" He asked as he watched me.
I blinked. "Hm?"
"...You been doing well with Takeru this past year?"
I bit my lip. It was true that we were dating; even I couldn't deny the PDAs we showed the world.
But Takeru.. was no Daisuke. Daisuke was the rainbow that cheered you up after the storm, Takeru was the feeling you got from standing in the rain.
I didn't know what to say to that; instead, I tried to fix the tripod.
"Did I say something wrong?" He then asked, seeing the worry on my face. Kneeling down as I finished packing everything up, he handed me the camera.
"Because if I did, I'm totally sorry."
I shook my head no. "No.. it's fine. Hey, Daisuke..?"
"Yeah?"
This.. was going to be a shock for him, I know. "Umm.. is your phone number the same?"
He looked a little shocked. "Yeah... w.. why..?"
"Umm.. well, niichan wanted to know because he wanted to... call you about something.." I lied, smiling weakly.
"Oh, if Taichi-sempai wants my number, then it's the same," He replied, his normal expression and color returning to his face.
As I left, I could hear him calling, "Have a great weekend, okay?"
I had to wonder, though. Was my relationship with Takeru really worth it? It was obvious that Daisuke cared for me more.. in that sort of way...
I smiled as I headed back into the school building to report to my editors. I knew what I wanted to do. Takeru may not be a happy person when it all was said and done, but it was what I think needed to be done.. for both my sake and Daisuke's.
