[KC] Battle

Err... this is a birthday present to Tsu-chan, but it didn't turn out in quite the way that I had hoped it would work out in. x__x; I'm sorry... I can write something else if need be. Just enjoy, okay?

Title: Battle
Characters: Kiro+Morie, NaminexRiku
Summary: Our parents weren't going to win. Oh, no. [I think this takes place two years before KC, as Kir's 11]
Disclaimer: Too lazy.... KH belongs to Disney and Square Enix, and KC belongs to its members.. x__x;

He had had enough of this.

No more would their parents rule over their house with their lovely, fluffy "I love you so much that I'll kiss you every day in front of my own kids"... err, you get the picture. Oh, no.

For Kiro would reclaim his true spot in the family. Which spot was that, one might ask?

Oh, it was the spot of the head of the house. Because, well, everyone knew the head of the house had to be sane.

It was just a matter of convincing his kid sister now. That was why Kiro supposed he was pacing around her bed in Morie's bedroom, pouring his heart to her.

"You know, Dad and Mom are always off doing their own thing. Do they ever care about us? No! That's why I have to become the head of the house. Because I care for everyone and show it!"

He paused, glancing over at the blonde girl sitting in her white chair. "....Are you even listening, Rie?"

She tilted her head to the side. "....Um, Kiro? Are you sure this'll even work?"

Why was it a bad sign that he nodded? Pointing his hand to the ceiling, he enthusiastically grinned. "Of course! I'm Kiro. What else do you need to know?"

The word 'everything' came to mind. Yet, Morie returned her eyes to her drawing. "I... guess you've got my support...." She meekly replied.

That was more than enough for Kiro. He leaned on the wall, crossing his arms. "Really? I'm thrilled to hear that! We strike tonight!"

Tonight? But that was so soon.

"What are we doing, Kiro?"

He looked thoughtful for a second. "Hrm... well, I wanted to do this super cool plan I had..."

She blinked. "Sounds like you don't have one."

He pouted. "Rie, think with me! What can we do to usurp leadership from our all mighty parents who do nothing but do gross things?"

"Um, Kiro...."

He shook his head, ignoring her comment. "Let me continue."

"No, Kiro!"

By that time, it was waaaay too late. Kiro soon found himself being tossed into the air by a white-haired man; oddly enough, this felt... good.

He pouted. That smile wasn't gonna come. It wasn't gonna come... it wasn't gonna come...

"Mommy!"

As he heard Rie drop her crayons and let herself fall into her mother's arms, Kiro.. couldn't help smiling. He too let his father carry him out of his sister's bedroom.

"You're only eleven, Kiro," His father told him cheerfully. "I don't know if the position of head of the house is right for you."

"Aww, Dad!"

He heard Rie and his mother laughing. As his mother walked next to his father, he saw them exchange cooties (ew, gross!)

"Riku, shouldn't you be a little nicer to your child?" His mother asked, smiling.

His father, on the other hand, was still grinning. "This is being nice," He insisted, letting Kiro sit on his shoulders. "After all, they're only kids for a little bit longer. Let's make it last."

Kiro sighed, looking over at his sister. "We lost."

"Were we ever fighting a battle?" Rie asked.

As the two were carried off to dinner, Kiro did have to wonder about that. Was he ever truly fighting a battle over head of the house... or was it for attention? He didn't know, and honestly.. he didn't care.
